Valentine's Day Cupcakes
Today I volunteered to make cupcakes for my 2nd graders. They have already dubbed me the cupcake queen.
I have been dying to make these chocolate box cupcakes for the last 3 years… but they might be tooo cute for the 2nd graders. (i.e. unappreciated)
I might make heart shaped rice krispee treats instead, and bring in cupcakes for my birthday. (1 week later)

West Philadelphia born and raised...
O.k. not really, but close enough.
Myles and I at the Eagles game earlier this month. (wearing 200 layers, I could have played linebacker)
Will Smith sporting the same Cunningham jersey.
Fun Fact: I met Will Smith in NYC when he was shooting Men In Black. (We are pretty tight.)

That IS IT!
I have had it up to here with this snow, and I am sick and tired of having cold, wet feet.
So…today I purchased these snow boots from ebay. ($48)
Let’s just hope that they arrive before the next storm. (I can almost garauntee that now that I have purchased snow boots—after wanting them for a year— that there will be no more snow… You are welcome!)

Snow Day
I love my roomies!
Last night was so much fun. We made buffalo chicken dip, ordered pizza, had drinks, and played in the snow.
The snowball fight got intense, and then we warmed up with a dance party in the kitchen.
It’s a good thing I have off today!

Daily Amish Observation:
Getting stuck behind a horse a buggy is really crappy. (pun intended)
By the numbers
11- Miles Per Hour the horse is running
55- The speed limit on the road
5-Minutes to get to work
Ahhh! I get so frustrated, but I really do love seeing them on the road.
Wow. My life is outrageously boring these days.

DECODED- Jay-Z
I forgot that I read Jay-Z’s book Decoded over Winter Break, and I really wanted to write about it. It was magnificent in every sense of the word.
First and foremost you must know that this book is not your typical celebrity autobiography.
This is book is truly poetry. He breaks down the lyrics to 32 of his raps in a way that shows his true genius; not only as a musician but as an...

I will not take a nap, I will not take a nap.
Going to sleep at 4am, and waking up at 2pm on the weekends makes it verryyy difficult to wake up at 6am on Monday morning.
That being said… it is even more difficult to keep my eye’s open while I sit in my dark living room on the most comfortable couch in the world.
Goal for tonight: get IN bed before 10:30, and asleep by 11.
Before then, I will be writing lesson plans, and...

Heated blanket = heaven
Tonight’s low temperature will be 1 degree! ARE YA KIDDING ME??
Thankfully I have my heated blanket, but getting up at 6am tomorrow is going to be rough. However, an inservice day means no students, and I get to wear jeans! Sounds like a great Monday!

If I were Orville Redenbacher...
I would include a package of these…
With every single box of this…
I sincerely think that I have a genius idea on my hands. I would like to patent this idea, but I have idea how to even begin that process.

When Your Friend Says There's A Bug In Your Hair

Accurate
First day of student teaching
My school is in the middle of farm country.
I literally passed 9 horse and buggy’s on my commute in.
There is a one room Amish school house directly across from my school.
Bring it on 2nd graders!!

I just bought $101 worth of groceries.
This means that I absolutely can not eat out during the entire week. This includes coffee, lunches, dinners, desserts, or any type of drink. (Weekends are free game)
I start student teaching tomorrow morning, so I will be packing my lunch in my Phillies lunch box… shark fruit snacks included.

Decisions Decisions?
Here is my dilemma….
8:00-10:00pm- The Bachelor
9:00-10:00pm- Jersey Shore
WHAT DO I WATCH??
I realize that Jersey Shore replays more than the MTV Movie Awards, but I really want to watch Snooks face plant into the sand.
I think I will be able to figure it out.

All good things must come to an end
Today was the last day that it is acceptable for me to sleep until 1 p.m. Let’s have a moment of silence. My winter break officially ends tomorrow, which will consist of Student Teaching meetings all day long. Then on Wednesday, I begin teaching the 2nd graders. (I visited the school last week, and it is directly across the street from a real Amish One-room School House!) This was my last...

I Need Help!
I was looking at old pictures the other day, and remembered how much I LOVED my short haircut.
So here is the question, should I cut my hair or continue to let it grow?
This is my current long haired self.
Pro’s
I can curl it
I can put it in a pony tail
It looks pretty
Con’s
It takes forever to style
Not as cute?
This was my short hair circa 2008.

I normally love snow
But I am NOT happy right now.
“Due to the expected storm Bingo will be canceled tonight”
Why? I’m willing to risk it.
Maybe Myles and I will have to play some high stakes wii to get my fix. Haha

Pet Peave
:When someone is handed a rose, and continuously sniffs it.
This annoys me to no end. It’s a rose…the smell is not going to get any better, or change. I suggest you hold it in your hand, or put it in a vase, but get it away from your nose. Thank you
*For an example of this obnoxious behavior, please see any episode of The Bachelor.

The Bach
It’s true… I’m addicted to the trashy train-wreck that is The Bachelor.
Cinny,(future mom) and I watch it every Monday night together in her comfy, king size bed. The first week is the most important, this is where we make our first impressions, and start judging all the ladies on their dresses, shoes, jobs, and vampire teeth?
Cinny writes down all of the girls names, ages,...

Spring Training
Phillies Spring Training tickets go on sale today.
Myles and I drove to Florida in the spring of 2009 for Spring Training, and it was one of the best weeks of my life. We got to meet players, got autographs, watched the games from the grass in the outfield, and drank buckets of beer.
This year, I have 2 “vacations” from school. (These vacations consist of having a Friday, and...

NYE
New Years Eve day was jam packed.
Myles, my grandpa, my cousin, and I drove all the way to school, and moved the rest of the things from my old apartment to my new place. It was exhausting, but when we got home I put my drinking shoes on, and manned up.
We went to Austin’s gorgeous loft in the city, and had a fantastic night!
I have a love affair with Champagne!

I just paid my tuition for the last time ever!!!
-Oh wait, let’s not get too excited. I still have my entire Masters to get. +15 credits, +30 credits, and my PhD. WHAT? This is crazy talk. Stop.
It’s still super exciting!

Put some pants on.
As I mentioned, I am sitting in Starbucks taking advantage of their internet connection. Well, 2:45 hit, and my former high school let out which is very close to this Starbs.
WELL... the high school Bitties start prancing in to get their Carmel Macchiato’s and gossip about the very intense high school drama.
My first observation… they are not wearing pants. Every single girl has a...

Christmas Cupcakes!
This is seriously delayed, but as I stated before- I do not have the internet at home. (I am incredibly deprived)
So, here I am at Starbucks drinking a Gingerbread Latte and catching up on my blogging.
Speaking of Gingerbread… I made the cutest cupcakes for Christmas.
Little Gingerbread boy.
They were best friends.
BUT… THERE WAS A HIDDEN SURPRISE!

Kiss me at midnight.
Happy New Year!
Last night was spent with some great people and a super cute puppy named Moose.
Myles kissed me for the 6 the year in a row as the ball dropped at midnight.
Today my grandpa made a traditional pork and sauerkraut dinner (its good luck to eat pork on New years day) for Myles and him. *I’m a picky eater.
Here is wishing everyone a healthy, and happy 2011.
